The Orchard
If the good folks at The Orchard really do what they say they can do, then their services are a must see for independent
musicians. Like what, you might ask? For one, if you sign up The Orchard will ensure your CD gets placement with
many of the major online music stores, including Amazon, CDNow, and Music Blvd. In addition, they promote your
product through standard retail outlets via the largest one stop distributor in the world. So, who's running this
place? Non other than Richard Gottehrer, co-founder of Sire Records (which brought us Madonna, the Talking Heads
& The Ramones) and producer for such acts as the Go-Go's and Blondie. So, the founder has definitely been around.
The Orchard splits all profits 70/30 in favor of the artist. Need we even say we highly recommend them? Great site,
and definitely worth a look around.
MAS: Musicians Assistance Site
It's been quite a while since we've reviewed MAS, and since they recently visited us we decided to return in kind.
MAS continues to set the standard for informational indie web sites on the net. Like us, they feature new site
reviews every week, but you'll also find a number of in-depth resource databases that are extremely useful. Take
their touring database for example; if you're looking to tour the country, or even Internationally, you need look
no further for a list of venues, contacts, and promoters throughout the entire world. You'll find huge lists of
manufacturers, record labels (with contact info) and check out their Published Resource directory. Within the MAS
archives, you'll find tons of music business articles, columns, and don't miss their list of premade contracts
and agreements concerning musicians and the music biz.

Howard's Piano Sheet Music
