The Association for Independent Music
AFIM (formally NAIRD) has served the independent music community for 26 years. They have over 1300 member companies both nationally and internationally. Their mission is to establish channels for effective communication for independent distribution. Every year, AFIM sponsors a convention attended retailers, distributors, labels and artists. While we have always felt that AFIM's yearly membership dues made them a bit exclusive for most struggling independent artists, one cannot deny the value of membership. The AFIM's web site is top notch. Be sure to check out AFIM Music Mix, their monthly magazine.
