Pianist Resources

Classical Sheet Music Collection
There's absolutely no fluff here... in fact, there's not much here at all except a rather decent collection of primarily classical sheetmusic available for download. All files are in *.pdf format making them easy to access. There are in the neighborhood of 30 composers represented here, including Chopin, Handel, Schubert, Rachmaninoff, Back, Alkan, Godowsky, Gershwin & Liszt.

The Music Scores Library
This "Electronic Score Publisher" features a good sized library of downloadable sheet music in *.pdf format for multiple instruments. The catalog contains mostly classical works, featuring scores by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Mozart, Debussy, Faure, Liszt, Satie and others. There is a subscription fee for unlimited access to these scores, though they can also be purchased individually for $2 to $3 on average. Four free sample scores are available for download. If you are an artist with your own sheet music, MSL will publish your music on their site for free.

New Piano Helps You Learn to Play...
Imagine a piano that will teach you how to play. Or one that will notate as you compose. The Van Koevering Interactive Piano does everything but nag you to practice like your Mom did. "What you see when you sit down at the piano," said spokesman Mark Forbis, "is a piano." This piano has a weighted keyboard with adjustable action. Hidden inside the body are a 24X CD-ROM, a hard disk and floppy drive, six stereo speakers (eight on the baby grand), a six-channel 120-watt amplifier, a 33.6-baud modem and all kinds of inputs and outputs. You can plug in a printer, a CD burner, a computer keyboard or headphones and experiment with a couple of hundred MIDI and percussion samples, effects and preset accompaniment styles from beguine to hip-hop.

Nick's Vintage Pianos
If you're interested in vintage or unique pianos, check out this site by piano broker Nick Caffacus. Some very cool pianos from a very long time ago. Lots of photos, with complete details on each piano.

Pianists Needed in India....
Looking for some exotic adventure? A company called Sound of Music is searching for a pianist to play a five star hotel in New Delhi. The contract lasts for a period of three months starting from January 2000. Accommodation, meals and airfare will be provided by the hotel and budget will not be a constraint for exceptionally good pianists. Visit web site for details.
